Auditions- Wednesday, May 24th

Scorn the Power!

directed by Anya Josephs

Macbeth is the story of how a tyrant rises to power—how he manipulates those around him through their fear of the unknown, their fear of powerful women, and their fear of foreign threats; how he maintains his power through violence and silence, and finally -- it is the story of how he can be conquered.

No tale could be more relevant to our current political situation for it is not only about the tyrant -- it is about those who outlast him. It is about the women who suffer, who survive, who will not be punished for being who we are.

Be careful what you take from us. We are not victims. We are survivors.  And that's why we're inviting you to audition for Surviving Macbeth.

Non-Equity actors of all ages, races, genders, and backgrounds are encouraged to schedule an audition, which you can do by emailing

Audition slots are available between 5:00pm and 10:00pm on Wednesday, May 24th, and will be held at the LA Shakespeare Center. Callbacks will be the next day, Thursday, May 25th. Rehearsals take place throughout July and August, with performances the weekend of August 24th.

Please prepare a 1-2 minute Shakespearean monologue and bring your headshot and resume. Any questions can be addressed to
